Following the successful reception of last year's New Latin Wave video art program we are pleased to announce the open call for the second edition of the Rotative Repository of Latin American Video Art: Single Channel.

This year’s edition will continue with the structure of last year’s 'Rotative' exhibition which is inspired by the classic Latin American cinema program of the 1960s - 1980s. A popular Sunday activity, people would go to the cinema to see three or four movies playing throughout the day on the same screen for one ticket. Based on this model, we will compile two hours of single channel work from approximately 10-15 artists to play on repeat throughout the day, all projected on the same screen, back to back. This year's event will take place at Brooklyn Bazaar in New York City where the films will be on view in the karaoke rooms.

Curatorial Frame: Displacement and Relocation
The program will focus on works that explore the meaning and action of displacement and the impact on exchange that can result. When an object or a body is taken out of its context there is a blurring of meaning and/or function that occurs. This real-life and/or virtual displacement influences and molds our various societies and individual behaviors. The rapid exchange of culture in our time creates a more complex society - one that is enriched through perpetual adaption to change. Submissions should address ideas relating to the concept of displacement and how relocation affects the subject and its context.

The open call will accept all kinds of single channel (only) video work from any Latin American artist working in any part of the world. There are no limits on genre of the work – submissions can range from documentary to animation, etc.

- Synopsis of the work (maximum 250 words)
